Elvis si esibisce all’ Hope Fair Park, Hope, AR
Dopo lo spettacolo, Elvis parte per Texarkana, con una ragazza di quella città, mentre Scotty e Bill vanno con altri amici. Verso metà strada ed esattamente a Fulton, Arkansas, la Cadillac bianca e rosa di Elvis si incendia e brucia.
La mamma di Elvis, Gladys, ricorderà sempre come, a casa, si sia improvvisamente svegliata, con la sensazione che fosse successo qualcosa a suo figlio.
Altri ricordano Elvis seduto a lato della strada, mentre, desolato, guarda i suoi sogni andati in fumo letteralmente.
Scotty ritorna da Texarkana a Memphis, per prendere la nuova Ford Crown Victoria bianca e rosa, che Elvis, aveva da poco acquistato per i suoi genitori, mentre Elvis e Bill prendono un aereo per il Texas.

Alle 20.00, per la seconda volta, Elvis si esibisce al Milton Berle Show, NBC Studios, Los Angeles

Berle presenta ad Elvis il premio del Billboard per aver raggiunto il 1° posto nelle classifiche delle vendite al dettaglio, dei jukebox, nonché per quelle del pop e del country and western, con la canzone “Heartbreak Hotel”. Elvis canta sia “I Want, I Need, You, I Love You” che “Hound Dog” . Durante l’esecuzione di quest’ultima i suoi movimenti sono ritenuti “esageratamente volgari”, tanto che, per un periodo, Elvis sarà bandito dalla televisione e dalle radio

Nello show ci sono anche la 31enne attrice Debra Paget vestita in modo molto sexy, Arnold Stang e Irish McCalla.
