Il Colonnello scrive al Management III per lamentare un management lassista ed “alcune esperienze negative” successe nell’ultimo tour. Dopo aver espresso una dose di scetticismo sulla prosecuzione dell’associazione (gli effetti di questa operazione potranno essere meglio valutati nel 1972), di fatto cede e concede alla società creata per le promozioni di supportare un’azione per un milione di dollari, per un altro tour con 12 date, che inizierà a novembre.
Nella nuova casa di Monovale vengono portati effetti personali di Elvis e mobili, ma quando è a Los Angeles, lui continua a rimanere nella casa di Hillcrest, per il resto del mese.

Il Los Angeles Citizen News riporta un articolo dal titolo “ELVIS PRESLEY SCARICA PARKER?” in relazione alle voci sempre più insistenti, secondo cui Parker sta cercando di vendere il suo contratto.
Contemporaneamente, la rivista musicale inglese New Musical Express riporta un articolo, secondo cui Parker sarebbe in contatto con Gordon Mills, il brillante manager di Tom Jones e tra i due ci sarebbe una fitta corrispondenza, argomento che viene smentito sia da Parker che dal suo assistente Tom Diskin, usando un linguaggio che farebbe invece pensare tutto il contrario e che queste supposizioni siano vere.
In questo periodo la stampa rivela che Elvis e Priscilla sono diventati come due estranei.
