Dal momento che da questo show, non si estrae abbastanza materiale nuovo per completare un album, viene organizzato un pomeriggio di prove per fare gli arrangiamenti su ulteriori canzoni. Durante le prove vengono registrate “The Wonder Of You” “Release Me” e “See See Rider”. Durante lo show delle 20.30 viene registrata “The Wonder Of You” che diventerà il nuovo singolo (RCA 478-9835) e da quello di mezzanotte vengono registrate “See See Rider” “Release Me” “Long Tall Sally” e “Polk Salad Annie” e saranno pubblicate nell’album “On Stage”. Dalle registrazioni è chiaro che la canzone di Joe White “Polk Salad Annie” completata dalle mosse di karate, sarà la nuova entusiasmante attrazione dello show

A mezzogiorno Elvis tiene una conferenza stampa all’Astroworld Hotel e parla delle sue radici musicali, di quello che è lo scenario musicale attuale e di come oggi trovi il suono della Sun “divertente”

Elvis fa due show all’Annual Texas Livestock Show all’Astrodome, Houston, TX.
Elvis fa un’entrata scenografica in una jeep scoperta, ma sia durante che dopo il primo show è notevolmente scoraggiato, a causa della acustica scarsa e per quello che lui ritiene un freddo riscontro di pubblico che, oltrettutto è al di sotto delle capacità dello stadio. Tra i due spettacoli, Elvis dichiara “Suppongo che non posso prenderla come sono abituato”. Ma il suo morale si risolleva nello spettacolo della sera grazie al grande riscontro che ottiene da un pubblico composto da 36.299 persone, dove secondo quanto afferma il Los Angeles Time la sua performance è stata “superlativa”
