Elvis vola a Phoenix per la prima data di questo tour. La RCA ha fatto una grossa promozione per questo show e la vendita dei biglietti ha fatto il sold out, in sole due ore.

Elvis viene raggiunto da tutti i musicisti che aveva a Las Vegas, tranne gli Imperials, che non possono esserci per precedenti impegni.

La Chamber Of Commerce annuncia che Elvis è stato votato come UNO DEI DIECI UOMINI DI RILIEVO DEL 1970. Il Jaycee Award è un riconoscimento che, sin dal 1939, viene dato a uomini che si sono distinti in tutti i campi (inclusi Leonard Bernstein, Orson Welles, il Rev. Jesse Jackson e Ralph Nader), con un comune denominatore: Devono avere 35 anni o meno di 35 anni. Alle 20.00, Elvis e Priscilla offrono una cena ai 100 ospiti al Four Flames Restaurant, dove i segnaposto hanno stampato il logo TCB e sono autografati da Elvis. Durante la cena Elvis regala un orologio, a tutti gli altri premiati. Viene servita un’elegante cena Chateaubriand, dal costo totale di $ 1.907,51. L’intrattenimento è eseguito dal cantante e fisarmonicista Tony Barasso, insieme a due violinisti. Questo è l’unico premio che Elvis ha ritirato di persona e diventa uno dei suoi tesori più preziosi che porterà sè in ogni suo spostamento.

Elvis conclude questo ingaggio, con un concerto che passa da un medley disinvolto di “Mistery Train/Tigerman” ad una triste e agrodolce “Help Me Make Through The Night”, dopo la quale Elvis presenta Felton Jarvis, Colonel Parker e Vernon Presley.

Come succede quasi sempre nella serata di chiusura, c’è la battaglia con l’acqua.

Per questo tour all’International Hotel di Las Vegas, Elvis ha tenuto ben 51 concerti

Elvis è tornato all’Hilton di Las Vegas per le prove. Come succede ogni volta, vengono incluse parecchie canzoni nuove, che poi vengono testate durante lo spettacolo. Tra queste ci sono “The First Time I Ever Saw You Face” di Gordon Lightfoot, “Dela Lady” di Joe Cocker “I’m Leaving It Up To You” e “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” di Don e Dewey.

Per l’apertura, il Colonnello ha ordinato 50.000 cataloghi dei dischi di Elvis, la cui stampa è a carico dell’Hilton, 75.000 calendari, 10.000 porta vinili e 5.000 spille per gli impiegati dell’Hilton

Elvis apre questo tour con il Dinner show, con recensioni che lo descrivono più magro e meno chiacchierone. Il mantello è diventato un optional fisso dello show ed Elvis canta molte più ballate, tra cui brani di Marty Robbins quali “You Gave Me A Mountain” “It’ Over” e “It’s Impossible”. Sono tutte canzoni che parlano di un amore perduto e tutte sono contante con un tale sentimento che sembra abbiano un’associazione autobiografiche. Priscilla è a Las Vegas dalla sera dell’apertura, ma non si vede fino alla serata di chiusura. Elvis presenta anche “American Trilogy” una canzone di Mickey Newbury, unita drammaticamente alle patriottiche “Dixie” , “The Battle Hyms Of Republic” e lo spiritual negro “All My Trials” . 

In questo stesso giorno, viene emessa la sentenza definitiva che Elvis non è il padre del bambino di Patricia Parker e la causa viene chiusa.

Il Colonnello, sempre insoddisfatto della gestione da parte del Management III, convince la RCA a creare la sua società di promozione dei tours, la RCA Record Tours, della quale il Colonnello sarà il controller.

Dall’altra parte la società del colonnello All Star Tour, firma ulteriore contratto con la Management III e la RCA Records Tours, per promuovere il 13° tour di Aprile
